Paper Plane Café

One of the ways that I judge whether a restaurant will good is by the queue of customers willing to wait in line to be seated. Surely if the food is worth the wait, it will be a long wait. But then I will expect great things. Recently one of the hot spots on social media and amongst all day breakfast enthusiasts is Paper Plane Café on Horwood Place hidden in a quiet lane off George St.

The interior is decorated exactly as you would find in a trendy little Surry Hills joint with a warm atmosphere and polite staff. Service is on the sluggish side since it is quite a small but busy café.  In my opinion the portions are very generous and reasonably priced.

The French toast from their all day breakfast menu and a pot of rose bud tea appealed to me but they also offer a variety of breakfast and lunch menu items. The two slices thickly cut breakfast style toast were dipped in egg and cooked to absolute perfection. The highly instagramable toppings including fresh berries and custard are a nice complement to the savoury element of  incredibly soft and fluffy French toast.

French toast - topped with rhubarb compote, French vanilla custard, crushed pistachios, fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries sprinkled with cinnamon & icing sugar   - $12.95

Rose bud tea - $4
Location:  Paper Plane Café, Shop 5/ 2 Horwood Place, Parramatta NSW 2150.Note:  While I have noticed an increase in PPC menu prices (from the reviews of others), all prices are correct at time of posting.
